Description

Introduction:

This is the second Discworld game.

What do you mean, "I haven't finished the first one yet?"

Good grief, some people...look, give the prunes to the fishmonger, get the dragon to breathe on the mirror, throw the Black Monk to the crocodiles and shoot the dragon with the other dragon.

Done that? Good. Now, if everyone's caught up...

Ahem.

In this second incredible Discworld adventure, Death has gone missing. A hero is needed to bring him back. But there's only Rincewind, incompetent wizard and highly trained coward. You won't catch Rincewind running away. He's too fast.

This brilliantly funny adventure game is set in the darkly humorous Discworld, created by Terry Pratchett. Voice talent by Eric Idle and others guides players through goofy challenges as they try to convince Death to get back to work. With bright, bold graphics and easy gameplay, it should keep gamers entertained for ages.

In Discworld II the player controls Rincewind the "wizard" (voiced by Eric Idle, as in the previous game) who has been burdened with the task of coercing Death out of his impromptu retirement and back into his regular duties. The plot borrows from a number of Discworld books, most notably Reaper Man, Moving Pictures and Lords and Ladies.

It all begins in a quiet Ankh-Morpork street, where Rincewind and The Librarian inexplicably fail to die from a nearby cart-bomb explosion. The odd event is not shared by them alone however: occurrences of the newly dead re-awakening and disturbing the populace are being reported all over the city, prompting the Archchancellor of Unseen University to halt his usual activities of feasting and merrymaking, and to take charge of the situation. Much to Rincewind's despair, the entirety of this process involves appointing him to the task of finding Death and convincing him to resume his work.

Unfortunately, he's all there is that stands between people and the horrible prospect of immortality. No one wants that, do they?

We've made DWII a little easier (snigger), with lots of new locations and even prettier graphics and sounds.

As Death himself says: HAVE FUN."

"A magical world which goes through space on the back of a turtle, as everyone should know by now!"
