Raiden has summoned his two most powerful Shaolin Monks, Liu Kang and Kung Lao to take the fight out of the arena and into Outworld. In this epic journey, they will unlock cryptic secrets, explore perilous realms and fight the deadliest of adversaries for control of the Mortal Kombat Universe.

Midway's kung fu adventure takes you on a bloody journey through Outworld. Departing from the one-on-one beat 'em up action that made the series' name, Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks unleashes a gore-soaked kung fu action adventure which is literally out of this world.

STORY:

The battle rages furiously on Shang Tsung's island fortress in the Lost Sea. As the sorcerer watches the fighters battle his soldiers to protect Earthrealm, the Shaolin monk Liu Kang defeats Shang Tsung, and the warrior Goro comes to his defense. With Goro distracting everyone else, Shang Tsung creates a portal to Outworld and retreats. Raiden appears and warns the fighters to evacuate as the island collapses.

Liu Kang and Kung Lao must fight their way through a nightmarish realm to stop Shang Tsung’s plot to lure Earthrealm’s warriors into a trap. If successful, Shang Tsung will conquer Earth without winning a Mortal Kombat tournament. Guided by Raiden, the two Shaolin Monks must journey through Outworld, survive its hazards, and uncover the dark secrets of the Emperor, Shao Kahn.
