Olimar's Odyssey:

One fateful day, an asteroid slams into the SS Dolphin and sends it into a perilous tailspin. Luckily, the ship’s lone crew member – Captain Olimar – survives the crash, but now he’s stranded on a strange planet with no way to get home. Time to get to work!

The mission: to track down the missing parts of the spaceship and escape the planet. If anyone can do it, it’s Captain Olimar! But time is short thanks to the planet’s poisonous atmosphere, and finding 30 parts in 30 days is a huge task for just one man. Thankfully, Olimar isn’t alone in his efforts…

Surviving the planet:

Pikmin are the key to success! Use their combined strength to destroy obstacles, build bridges, carry ship parts and take down hungry creatures – just fling them at things and watch them work! You can lead up to 100 Pikmin at once, but more can be kept safe at your base for when others fall.

Each type of Pikmin has its own skills: Red Pikmin are strong in a fight and immune to fire, Yellow Pikmin can be thrown higher and use Bomb Rocks, and Blue Pikmin can breathe under water. Take advantage of these unique talents to explore the planet and restore Olimar’s ship!

What's new?

As well as HD graphics, Pikmin 1 on Nintendo Switch features all of the enhancements included in the NEW PLAY CONTROL! version of the game for Wii. Tasks like throwing, separating and swapping between Pikmin, as well as swarming ship parts or enemies, are all easier. You can also rewind to previous days and replay them to correct any mistakes made.

The Nintendo Switch version also offers optional motion control using the Joy-Con controllers, mirroring the NEW PLAY CONTROL! version of the game.

Two's company:

On a quest to pay off the debts of their employer, Captain Olimar and his new assistant Louie head back to the strange planet to recover valuable treasures. Split Olimar and Louie up into separate squads to cover more ground and achieve goals faster – teamwork makes the dream work!

As well as exploring the planet’s surface, you can also now dive underground into challenging caves full of treasure, and dangerous bosses. Defeat them to earn special items that Olimar and Louie can use to expand their repertoire of skills.

A crop of new creatures:

Once again, the Pikmin are here to help! By throwing them at a task, they can destroy obstacles, build bridges, recover treasure and defeat creatures. Both Olimar and Louie can command their own teams of Pikmin, so use strategic co-operation to tackle any task.

What's new?
