amiibo are a series of Nintendo character toys that interact with multiple games on the Nintendo Switch, Wii U and 3DS consoles. Data on the chip will be transferred into the game and used in a range of ways. As you play, your figure's data will also be updated, so keep playing to make your amiibo unique!

Lucario:

Lucario can track a form of energy called an aura, given off by all living creatures. Lucario is the only known Fighting- and Steel-type Pokémon and evolves from Riolu during the day when its happiness is high enough. Lucario specialises in attacks that use aura energy, like Dark Pulse, and its can't-miss move, Aura Sphere.

Features:

When an amiibo is placed on the GamePad, that character will be brought into the game. Players can either watch the character battle other characters, battle alongside the character, or battle against the character. The more the amiibo is played, the more it levels up, unlocking different moves, equipment, and customisation options. They will also level up faster when pitted against other amiibo fighters.

Wide range of characters:

amiibo went on sale at the launch of Super Smash Bros. with more characters set to be announced in 2015. Characters already announced include Mario, Link, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, and many more!

Connect to a wide range of games:

In addition to Super Smash Bros. you'll be able to use amiibo in a number of other games, and how they're used depends on the game. Additional compatible games include Mario Party 10 and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

See your amiibo battle and watch it grow:

In Super Smash Bros. you can transfer the data from your amiibo so it can appear in the game and fight for you. As your amiibo fights, it will develop its own unique attributes and skills, becoming stronger and learning new moves. You can even add your own twist to combat by customising special moves!

How to use your amiibo:

Nintendo Switch:

You can use amiibo on Nintendo Switch by tapping them to the NFC touchpoint on the right Joy-Con or the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

New Nintendo 3DS systems:

You can use amiibo on New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL by tapping them to the NFC area on the bottom screen.

Nintendo 3DS and 2DS + NFC Reader/Writer:

You can use amiibo on Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL and Nintendo 2DS via the NFC Reader/Writer accessory.

Nintendo Wii U:

You can use amiibo on Wii U by tapping them to the NFC touchpoint on the Wii U GamePad.
