Introduction:

Discover amiibo, a brand new way to interact with your favourite Nintendo characters and games. Amiibo are a series of Nintendo character toys that interact with multiple games on the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS consoles. Data on the chip will be transferred into the game and used in a range of ways. As you play, your figure's data will also be updated, so keep playing to make your amiibo unique!

Treasure Trove:

Plague Knight, Specter Knight, and King Knight are joining the world as amiibo! In each game, you can scan the corresponding amiibo to unlock new costumes on Nintendo Switch, 3DS, or Wii U.

You can wear these costumes while battling it out in Showdown too. Woah! They look really awesome, don’t they? These costumes are cosmetic only so you can mix and match them with your favorite armors already found in the game.

Plague Knight, King Knight, and Specter Knight also unlock new platforming challenges within each game’s Challenge mode. These will really put your skills to the test!

Finally, each amiibo can unlock a fairy friend. Madam Meeber’s strange powers ensure each fairy unlocked with amiibo can follow your adventure throughout every game. There are lots of fun and silly fairy interactions to see!

King Knight:

King Knight isn’t a king, he is a king-themed knight. But that doesn’t stop him from making decrees! As the lord defender of Pridemoor Keep, he commands a formidable army of minions. Experienced with repelling invaders who dare try topple his malevolent monarchy, King Knight is a master of single combat. And because he’s dressed to the nines at almost all times, he’s always ready for a brutal coronation!

Plague Knight:

Sometimes, the bomb is mightier than the sword. Deep in the recesses of his alchemical lab, Plague Knight perfects concoctions both poisonous and explosive. Toxin, disease, and death are his playgrounds. Even his comrades give Plague Knight a wide berth, because he spreads more than just the common cold. With an array of mysterious and magical bottles at his side, Plague Knight could be considered the black sheep of The Order of No Quarter.

Specter Knight:

In life, Specter Knight was a cruel and cunning warrior. And although his blood is now icy cold, he is no less formidable as a phantasm. The most begrudgingly loyal knight of the Order, Specter Knight follows the Enchantress only because she is capable of magically extending his undeath. Clutching a grim Scythe in his shriveled claws, Specter Knight commands his weapon with uncommon cunning... and his next target is Shovel Knight.

Features:

When an amiibo is placed on the GamePad, that character will be brought into the game. Players can either watch the character battle other characters, battle alongside the character, or battle against the character. The more the amiibo is played, the more it levels up, unlocking different moves, equipment, and customisation options. They will also level up faster when pitted against other amiibo fighters.

Wide range of characters:

Amiibo went on sale at the launch of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, with more characters set to be announced in 2015. Characters already announced include Mario, Link, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, and many more!

Connect to a wide range of games:

In addition to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, you'll be able to use amiibo in a number of other games, and how they're used depends on the game. Additional compatible games include Mario Party 10 and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

See your amiibo battle and watch it grow:

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, you can transfer the data from your amiibo so it can appear in the game and fight for you. As your amiibo fights, it will develop its own unique attributes and skills, becoming stronger and learning new moves. You can even add your own twist to combat by customising special moves!

Compatible with Nintendo 3DS and 2DS:

As well as working with the Nintendo Wii U, amiibo can also be used with Nintendo 3DS and 2DS consoles via an accessory that is planned for release in 2015. Amiibo will also be compatible with the New Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL.
