30th Anniversary: Mario - Modern Colours:

Mario's style has evolved throughout his many adventures and challenges. This blocky, classic look harkens back to his design in the original Super Mario Bros.™ game that launched for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985. His blue overalls and red shirt represent his modern color scheme, and are mixed with the retro aesthetic of the original game.

Features:

When an amiibo is placed on the GamePad, that character will be brought into the game. Players can either watch the character battle other characters, battle alongside the character, or battle against the character. The more the amiibo is played, the more it levels up, unlocking different moves, equipment, and customisation options. They will also level up faster when pitted against other amiibo fighters.

Wide range of characters:

Amiibo went on sale at the launch of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, with more characters set to be announced in 2015. Characters already announced include Mario, Link, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, and many more!

Connect to a wide range of games:

In addition to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, you'll be able to use amiibo in a number of other games, and how they're used depends on the game. Additional compatible games include Mario Party 10 and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

See your amiibo battle and watch it grow:

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, you can transfer the data from your amiibo so it can appear in the game and fight for you. As your amiibo fights, it will develop its own unique attributes and skills, becoming stronger and learning new moves. You can even add your own twist to combat by customising special moves!

Compatible with Nintendo 3DS and 2DS:

As well as working with the Nintendo Wii U, amiibo can also be used with Nintendo 3DS and 2DS consoles via an accessory that is planned for release in 2015. Amiibo will also be compatible with the New Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL.
